During Halloween, Dunkin’ released “unhinged” social media ads promoting their speciality Spider Donut “Spidey D”. Inspired by the meme, I created my own costume to increase brand awareness and elevate the brand’s comedic storytelling. The costume was recognized by the official Dunkin’ Donut Tiktok and Instagram after it went viral online.

During the month of October 2024, Dunkin’ set its character free to the Internet. It “took over” the official Dunkin’ account wrecking havoc online.

I assembled the costume the day before Halloween by gathering basic DIY supplies. I wanted the costume to include the yellow emoji hands, so I incorporated yellow gloves into the costume design.





On Halloween Day, I recorded my interactions with Dunkin’ staff while Trick-or-treating, assuming the character of Spidey D. My interactions were positively received and people were excited to see the meme in real life.





Of course, the best part was finding my Costume pair. I was lucky to find Spiderman and Marge Simpson on the subway.
